Some movies...

Hi folks,

Just some movie links today from Superbowl commercials (yes, it's several months afterwards). You'll need QuickTime or some other viewer that opens .mp4 files to see them (they are also video iPod ready). More on my adventures to come later.

Here's a full fledged post...

The last few posts have been mobile posts, given that I have been waiting for a BART train various times...and had nothing better to do.

Except for the fire alarm at the rental car center after arriving safely via air, and the rental car running on E, we got settled into the lovely Berkeley apartment, went shopping, and subsequently had a nice weekend with relatives in Nicasio and seeing some lovely Moose Boats.

Came back to Berkeley yesterday (Mon) to finish settling in and see friends in San Francisco. Then taking mom back to the airport, and me barting back.

Today (Tues) has been relatively uneventful, although I did meet with my SpaceShare cohort to discuss our current work. At the moment, that involves sorting through a long list of contacts and a messy ZIP archive to get a good group of contacts and allies for ride sharing to events. Afterwards, we took a long walk around Berkeley to get acquainted to the area.

About my apartment--nothing special, but the roommate will be going down to So. Cal. for a month so I'll have the place to myself for a while. Did have a grease fire in the oven this evening while cooking a frozen pizza -- s'pose that it rarely gets used around here. So that's why this eve I barted over to Target to grab some oven cleaner among other things...

Hopefully tomorrow my cohort and I will visit prospective offices for our summer internship work. More updates coming later in the week!

Safely in CA. Waiting for BART train to return to Berkeley. SpaceShare stuff begins tomorrow. All is going well. More updates later.

Where am I?

Don't exactly know who is visiting here on a regular basis. If you are, please leave a comment!!

FYI-there is an RSS feed to help you stay up to date with me. Mozilla/Firefox should detect it automatically; there is also a link on the bottom of the page (see the orange RSS button). If you don't know what RSS is, you probably don't have a need for it.

I leave for California early early early Saturday. Which means I have to get up at about 4am (or a bit earlier) to catch the flight... If you are curious to check out the flight status once I'm in the air, check out this link using the data below...

From: DETROIT METRO, MI Departs:630A
To: DENVER, CO Arrives: 735A

From: DENVER, CO Departs:830A
To: SAN FRANCISCO, CA Arrives:1005A

So back to packing (which is actually almost done, thank goodness.) More updates likely once I arrive in CA.

My First Official Post!

Welcome to my new redesigned (and finally updated website). Hopefully basing the homepage around a blog will allow me to keep it up-to-date. I've also got a new philosophy of trying to keep my web site simple, instead of something that takes forever to update (one of the reasons I rarely updated it in the past.)

As many of you already know, I'll be interning at SpaceShare this summer doing communications and contact work with allied organizations, among other tasks. While in Berkeley, California (near San Francisco), I hope to make some new acquaintances and see what living for a long period of time (May 20-July 31) on the west coast is like...perhaps I'll end up there after graduating in December. I also hope to keep all of you updated of my thoughts on the internship (like a journal) on this site.

Maybe I'll use Spanish this summer, maybe I won't. Whatever way that ends up, I'll need to find at the least some conversation opportunities. Berkeley is a large college town just like Ann Arbor after all...

My penultimate semester at U-M just finished; right now I'm busy packing and getting ready to go on the 20th. Thanks for taking the time to come and visit, and I look forward to hearing from many of you soon! (Do let me know if you find any problems/broken links with the site...)
